Jeanette Johnson
Jeanette Johnson, 91, of Mulberry, IN died at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010. She was born on December 18, 1918 in the Rossville area to parents Loyal & Bernice (Yost) Stephenson.
She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1936. Jeanette was a homemaker and was very instrumental in the success of Johnson Funeral Home in Mulberry in which her and her husband owned and operated for 30 years from 1955 ¨C 1985. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for all her grandchildren. During retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband and most of all enjoyed the 5 summers they spent working at Yellowstone National Park. She was a member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church, O.E.S. in Mulberry & Past President of Mothers Club.
She married Harold E. Johnson on December 22, 1937 in Lebanon, Indiana, and he predeceased her having passed away on July 22, 1996.
Survivors include 2 Sons ¨C Gene (wife Jane) Johnson of Greenwood, IN & Ted (wife Barbara of Frankfort. 1 Daughter - Ann Coughlin of Tecumseh, MI, 1 Brother - Ned (wife Ruth) Stephenson of Indianapolis, 9 Grandchildren ¨C Kristan, Kimberly, Kent, Ross, Amanda, Neil, Courtney, Collin & Elizabeth and 13 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister Betty, and infant daughter Margot.
