Daniel E. Long
Daniel E. Long, 88 of rural Lafayette, IN died at Mulberry Health & Retirement Community on Monday, January 25, 2010. He was born on April 10, 1921 in Clinton County, IN to parents Andrew & Orpha (Beeghley) Long.
Daniel was a life resident of the Rossville area. He retired from the Purdue University Physical Plant in 1986 after seventeen & one-half years of employment there. He also worked as a plasterer for many years before being employed at Purdue. He loved fishing & woodworking and was a member of the North Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
He married Mary Ellen Wagoner on December 21, 1940, and she predeceased him having died on April 22, 1999.
Survivors include Three daughters, Etta Lehman, Sedalia, IN, Margaret (husband Keith) Brovont, Camden, IN, & Joyce South, Lafayette, IN, two sons, Kenny Long, Mulberry, IN, & Rick (wife Patsy) Long, Lafayette, IN, two sisters, Virginia Bellah, Rossville, IN & Mary Jessup, Sedalia, IN, 15 Grandchildren & 2 Step-Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren & 13 Step-Grandchildren as well as One Great Great Grandchild and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Flora, & two brothers, Chester Long & John A. Long.
