Rex Gilbert Chittick
Rex was born in Geetingsville, had lived his whole life in the Rossville, Owasco, and Mulberry areas and will be laid to rest in his birth place of Geetingsville. He owned and operated his father’s business, Chittick & Son Farm Drainage Service. He also farmed from 1963-1987. He was later employed by Kaiser & Kaiser Construction and later with Reith Riley Construction Co. He was a member of Pyrmont Church of the Brethren where he was an active Youth Leader. He was a 4 H Leader, enjoyed Drag racing and was the Official Indiana Outrider in the Bicentennial National Wagon Train in 1976. He also enjoyed talking with school children about his experience with National Wagon Train and was a spokesperson for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He also served in the National Guard as a Mess Sgt.

He married Norma Roth, and they later divorced.

Survivors include Loving Companion - Marilyn Dunk of Rossville, 5 Daughters: Sue Ann Ware of Mulberry, IN, Sherry L. (husband Don) Winter of Brookston, IN, Cynthia L. (husband Steve) Linton of Wooster, OH, Sandra Jo (husband Gary) Kinsler of Frankfort, IN & Abby Gangwer Chittick of Edna Mills, IN, 3 Sisters: Bonnie (husband H. Don) Cripe of Lowell, IN, Connie (husband Morris) Wagoner & Betty (husband H. Rex) Metzger both of North Manchester, IN, 14 Grandchilren- Travis (wife Jackie) Ware, Joshua (wife Jamie) Ware, Katie (husband Toby) Hamilton, Tim Winter, Dietrich (wife Sarah) Winter, Dustin (wife Amy) Winter, Jackson Biesecker, Lindsay (husband Jeremiah) Thomas, Stephanie (companion Kevin) Linton, Brody Linton, Wade Linton, Courtney (husband Mike) Rominger, Carly (husband Justin) Ecenbarger & Clayton (wife Amy) Kinsler, 31 Great Grandchildren as well as a host of Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by: his Parents, 1 Brother Max, 1 granddaughter, Renee Suzette Goode & 1 son-in-law Ted Ware.

Rex Gilbert Chittick, 81, of Rossville, IN died at Milner Community Healthcare on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1929 in Geetingsville, IN to parents Harold & Ethel (Evans) Chittick.
