Eva M. Need
FRANKFORT — Eva M. Need, 94, formerly of 7906 N. Indiana 75, died at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Wesley Manor.
Born Dec. 16, 1913, in Owen Township, Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Anna Belle Weida Lipp. She was a lifelong resident of Owen Township, Clinton County, graduated from Rossville High School in 1931, as valedictorian, and attended Indiana State Teacher College, where she received her lifetime license to teach.
She married J. William “Bill” Need on Nov. 21, 1940, and he died Oct. 8, 2004. She and her husband farmed together for 50 years. Mrs. Need was a teacher for 30 years and taught at Middlefork, Beard and Rossville School Systems before her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Moran and Rossville United Methodist churches for 94 years, where she served as a teacher of the High School Sunday School Class for many years; was a charter member of the J.O.Y. Class and attended the Monday Night Bible Study. She was a member of the Kappa Gamma Society and enjoyed gardening, reading and Rossville High School and Purdue University sports.
Surviving are three sons, James D. Need (wife: Janilyn), David L. Need (wife: Sharon) and Kent W. Need (wife: Kathy), all of rural Frankfort.
Calling: 2–5 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville. Services 10:30 a.m. March 14, 2008, at Rossville United Methodist Church, Pastor Mark Need and Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Interment Kilmore Cemetery. Surviving are 7 grandchildren, Jeff, Kerry, Kyle and Mark Need, Julia Hadinger, Kristine Gochenour and Jerrilynn Dorr; and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother, Robert L. Lipp, preceded in death. Memorials to: Rossville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
