Vera Bon Ross Milner Knight
ROSSVILLE -- Virginia C. Messick, 94, of Rossville, died at 2:15 a.m. April 11, 2008, at Milner Community Health Care.
Born March 21,1914 in Tipton County, Indiana she was the daughter of Frank L. & June (Richey) Ross.
Vera retired from Clinton County ASCS Office and was employed by Owen Township School for several years. She married Junior Milner on October 12, 1936 and Mr. Milner predeceased her passing away on February 22, 1966. She also married Robert E. Knight on October 2, 1971 and Mr. Knight passed away on July 8, 2003.
She graduated from Rossville High School 1932 and was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church; former member of Sedalia Methodist Church where she served as a teacher, superintendent and Stewart; Owen Township Girls 4-H leader; Owen Homemakers Club and Past member of the Sedalia Notions Club.
Surviving are 2 Children: Son – Ross Milner (wife Linda) of Rural Rossville & Daughter – Rita Power of Frankfort; 6 Step Children and 1 nephew; 4 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren as well as several Step Grandchildren & Step Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be Monday April 14, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Bodine Funeral Home in Rossville, Indiana. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Rick Jones. Calling hour is one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Bodine Funeral Home in Rossville. Burial will be at the Geetingsville Cemetery.
