Eldon Jay Kern
June 20, 1920 - April 21, 2008
Eldon Jay Kern, 87, of Lafayette, died at Regency Place in Lafayette, Indiana, on Monday April 21, 2008. Eldon was born June 4, 1920 in Tippecanoe County Indiana and was the son of Elmer E. and Ethel (Paul) Kern.

He was life long resident of Tippecanoe County and farmed with his parents in the Petit Community and then drove a semi trailer and tractor for National Homes Corporation for 30 plus years. Eldon was a 50 year member of the Masons and a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and his dog “Tiger”.

He married Elsie Ruth Reichart on October 7, 1939 and Elsie predeceased him having passed away on August 18, 1990.

Survivors include Son Robert and wife Carol Kern of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and two daughters Carol and Husband Don Gentry and Becky Moyer of West Lafayette, Indiana; Seven Grand Children - Doug and Ted Kern, Alynn Eggert, Alan and Andy Gentry, Jay and Stephanie Moyer and Seven Great Grand Children.

Eldon was predeceased by his wife and parents.

Calling will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday April 24th, 2008 at the Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry, Indiana. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday April 25th at 10:30am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Green officiating. Burial will be at the Fair Haven Cemetery.
