William Goode
July 9, 1949 - August 7, 2008
William Goode, 80, of West Lafayette, died on Thursday, August 7th, 2008 at home in the presence of his family. He was born on December 20, 1927 in Lafayette, Indiana to parents William & Lela Mae (Cary) Goode.
He married Donnabelle Perrin on July 9, 1949 and they recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.
William lived most of his life in Mulberry and the Lafayette areas. He attended Mulberry schools, and he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served on the USS Hancock in the Pacific Theatre. After retirement Bill mastered wood working and restoration. He was a Public Account in private practice and retired in 1987.
He was a member of the First U.M.C. in West Lafayette, was a 32 degree Mason receiving his 50 yr pin, was a member of the Scottish Rite, American Legion and Indiana Ass. Of Public Accountants.
Survivors include his wife and 1 son Brent (wife Tamara) Goode of rural Lafayette and
1 daughter Colleen Goode of Wolf Creek, Oregon; 5 sisters - Edith Rothenberger formerly of Mulberry Christine Reynolds of Kirklin IN, Lucille Swank of San Antonio TX, Marie Thomas of South Carolina and Pat Culbertson of Lafayette; 2 brothers - Cecil Goode of Glasgow KY and Sam Goode of AZ. Three Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 son Doug, 1 daughter Debbie and a sister Lera Goode.
Calling hours are Sunday Aug. 10, 2008 from 2:00 - 4:00PM at the Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry. Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 12, 2008 at 1:00PM also at the Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry with Pastor Dennie Frank officiating. Burial will be at the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
