Geneva Ruth Goodnight
Geneva was born on April 19, 1925 in Mulberry, IN to parents Wm. Bun & Harriet Oleta (Cooley) Roberts. She married Robert Harold Goodnight on April 25, 1943, and he survives her.
She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1943, and during WWII she welded battleships in service to her country. With her husband she farmed in Clinton County then later managed a camp ground in Van Buren, Missouri. She worked at P.R. Mallory’s before becoming a homemaker. She was an artist for her family and sold her works around the world. She was a doll collector and also made dolls. Geneva also had her own upholstery shop, and she was a Previous member of E.U. B. churches & Washington Township Home Ec. Club.
Survivors include her Husband, Son – Robert Eugene (wife Tina) Goodnight of Raliegh, NC; 3 Daughters – Jacqueline Halsema (husband Eric) of Callao, Missouri, Pamela Ruth Shelburne (husband Gerald) of Thorntown and Sandra Bond (husband Dennis) of Rossville; 2 sisters – Anna Louise Cripe of Lafayette & Mary Lou Naugle of Raton, New Mexico;
10 Grandchildren – Kimberly, Samantha, Geneva, Cynthia, Angela, Wm. Douglas, Jennifer, Rebecca, Anthony “AJ” & Nicholas; 16 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 Sister - Olive Ellen Murphy and 1 Brother - Wm. Frederick Roberts.
